Prindustry, located at Hendrik Figeeweg 1M-2 2031 BJ Haarlem in The Netherlands, is responsible for the processing of personal data as shown in this Privacy and Cookie Policy.

Prindustry is an IT company that develops a proprietary platform to manage, edit and order printed materials and marketing assets. The software can be used as a webshop, brand portal or print management system. Prindustry respects the privacy of customers, relations and visitors to the website and ensures that the personal information you provide is treated confidentially. You can read here exactly how Prindustry does this – and which personal data Prindustry collects from you for what purposes.

The use of personal data

When using the website, services and/or during contact moments, Prindustry obtains certain information from you. This can be personal data. Prindustry only stores and uses the personal data that is provided by you directly, in the context of the service you have requested (for example in the contact form or when signing an agreement), or of which it is clear that they are provided to Prindustry to process. Prindustry will not use your personal data for other purposes, unless you have given permission in advance or unless Prindustry is allowed or required to do so by law or the agreement.

Description of the personal data

Prindustry processes your personal data because you use Prindustry services and / or because you provide this data to Prindustry yourself.

Below you will find an overview of the personal data that Prindustry processes, depending on the purpose of the use (see next paragraph):

  • Name and address details
  • Company details: personal e-mail address
  • Function
  • Gender
  • VAT number
  • E-mail address
  • (Mobile) telephone number
  • Location data
  • Technical browser information
  • Cookie ID
  • Click and browsing behavior
  • Other personal data that you actively provide, for example in correspondence and by telephone
  • (Login) data web portals (customers only)
  • Bank account number (customers only)

Purposes of use

In order to provide you with the best possible service, Prindustry needs to store some of the above personal data in certain cases.

Prindustry may process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • The execution of agreements, transactions and services, such as the development of your web portal(s);
  • Relationship management, including contacting you if you request this;
  • Gaining insight into the usage of the Prindustry website (such as click behavior, page views and session duration);
  • Inform you about product and service development;
  • Sending a Prindustry newsletter (online);
  • Sending brochures or invitations (offline);
  • Determining strategy and policy;
  • Providing support;
  • Measuring overall website performance and improving visibility through search engines and advertising.

Retention periods

Prindustry does not store your personal data longer than is strictly necessary to achieve the stated purposes in this Privacy and Cookie Policy.
In case you apply for a position at Prindustry, we will delete your data 2 weeks after filling the position and not longer than 3 months after receiving it.
Our cookies (see below in this policy) have an expiration date at Prindustry of 1 month. For storage of cookies by third parties, please refer to the privacy statement of the relevant party. For example, Facebook states that they store cookies for 3 months. However, Prindustry only uses social media cookies for sharing articles on the website.

Data security

Prindustry applies strict security procedures to protect the processed data, among others to prevent unauthorized access to this data. Prindustry ensures that only necessary persons have access to your data, and that access to personal data is protected.

Technical measures

The main technical measures are servers within the EU and SSL certificates (also known as: TLS certificates). All Prindustry servers are located within EU borders and comply with GDPR legislation. All webshops and brand portals have a valid SSL certificate. SSL certificates ensure that all data is transmitted in encrypted form. The SSL certificates are validated on a periodic basis. The SSL/TLS certificates all have an expiration date. For each SSL certificate Prindustry keeps track of the expiry date. Support keeps track of when each certificate needs to be replaced (to prevent an expired certificate from being used) and performs the replacement of the certificates. When a certificate is replaced, the support employee records the new expiration date in the so-called Master List. The new replacement date is also added to the internal schedule. This falls under cryptographic management measures. Authentication credentials are stored in the database and in backups. Backups are stored in a protected environment in the data center. All internal processes at Prindustry are standardized to ensure manageable organization, reliability and efficiency.
Further technical measures include antivirus software, secure passwords and their management in a password manager and two-factor authentication.

Organizational measures

Organizational measures include, for example, the maintenance of a Processing Register. This register states which personal data are processed, for what purposes and how these data are secured.
Prindustry is ISO 27001 certified as of 2021, the ISO standard for information security. The ISO 27001 certification indicates that Prindustry complies with all information security requirements for the continuous development and secure operation of the Prindustry SaaS platform for webshops and brand portals. This standard is audited every year.
Other organizational measures include limiting access to data (by authorization and authentication) and guidelines within the organization about processing personal data.

In Prindustry’s Processing Register all technical and organizational measures per supplier can be found.

Confidentiality & Disclosure to Third Parties

Prindustry handles personal data confidentially. Prindustry does not provide the personal data that Prindustry collects (on the website) to third parties for direct marketing purposes of these parties.

Prindustry shares personal data solely with third parties as necessary for the performance of the agreement and to comply with any legal obligation. With our customers (web portal owners) who process personal data on our behalf, Prindustry signs a Processor Agreement to ensure the same level of data security and confidentiality.

As Processor

For its customers, Prindustry as the software developer is the Processor. Prindustry does not determine the purpose and means of processing personal data in the web portals. Prindustry merely stores and transmits the data through the platform. Personal data are processed on behalf of the Controller, the web portal owner. A Processor Agreement must be concluded with all relevant customers (i.e. within the scope of the GDPR). An example of this Processor Agreement can be found on the website (footer menu).

The WhiteLabelShop or Brand Portal (webshop) owner is the Controller, because they enter the personal data or have them entered and determine the purpose and means. When a web portal owner uses the integrations with producers to fulfill orders from the Prindustry platform, these manufacturers are considered Subprocessors, as they receive personal data for a specific purpose: to produce and ship an order. All suppliers who offer products through the Prindustry platform have received contracts that guarantee the security of personal data through the platform. By signing the Subprocessor Agreement, suppliers indicate that they are taking appropriate measures to protect personal data. This gives WhiteLabelShop holders the assurance that they will handle the personal data they receive for an order through the Prindustry platform with care. WhiteLabelShop owners can see in the backend in their webshop, in the Prindustry Marketplace, which suppliers have signed the agreement by the green GDPR tick. An example of the Sub-Processor Agreement can also be found on the website (footer menu).

As Data Controller

Prindustry is also a Data Controller. This means that Prindustry chooses a company or system to enter personal data for specific purposes.

Below is an overview of third parties with whom Prindustry exchanges personal data for specific purposes. This data is extracted from Prindustry’s Processing Register.

All details of Subprocessors and recipients of data are logged in Prindustry’s Processing Register. If you have any questions about the details, please email the GDPR Manager Jolanda van Drie at jolanda@prindustry.nl. She can give further insight into the security data measures and agreements by vendor.

Cookies on Prindustry website

Prindustry uses cookies on its website www.prindustry.com to gain insight into how the website is used and to make the online offering more relevant, for example by displaying ads related to search queries.
Cookies are small text files that are automatically read and stored on your device (such as a PC, tablet, or smartphone) when you visit a website. This happens through the browser. The information obtained by a cookie about your website use may be transferred to Prindustry’s secure servers or those of a third party.

Purpose of cookies

On the Prindustry website, cookies are used to:

  • enable website functionalities and ensure website security;
  • analyse and improve website usage;
  • enable sharing of content via social media;
  • measure the effectiveness of general marketing campaigns and improve visibility in search engines.

Consent and cookie legislation

Prindustry only places necessary cookies without consent. All other cookies (such as analytical, functional or marketing cookies) are only placed after you have given explicit permission via the cookie banner. This ensures compliance with the Dutch Telecommunications Act and the GDPR.

Necessary cookies

These cookies are essential for the proper functioning of the website and cannot be disabled. They ensure core functionalities and security features. These cookies are always enabled and do not store any personally identifiable information.

Technical or functional cookies

Functional cookies support additional functionalities, such as remembering your preferences or enabling content sharing via social media platforms. Their main purpose is to save you time and enhance your user experience. For example, if you customise a page or navigate through the site, your settings and preferences are saved for future visits.

Social sharing cookies (as functional cookies): To allow visitors to share articles from the Prindustry website on social media, Prindustry uses the following sharing tools. While Prindustry is not actively present on all listed platforms, these sharing buttons may still place cookies only when clicked. These cookies are not used for tracking or profiling.

Performance cookies

Performance cookies are used to measure the performance of the website. They collect anonymous data, such as load times or error messages, to improve user experience.

Analytical cookies

In addition, cookies are used on the Prindustry website to keep statistics, so that Prindustry can gain insight into the use of the website and the effectiveness of the campaigns. We do not include the IP address in these statistics. Prindustry uses the following analytical cookies:

  • Matomo Analytics
    We use Matomo Analytics to track how visitors use our website. With these cookies we collect, for example, insight into the number of visitors, visitor behaviour, the conversion rate or the time each visitor spends on the site. The information that is measured is made completely anonymous.
    Prindustry switched from Google Analytics to Matomo Analytics as of Jan. 1, 2023, specifically to be and remain GDPR compliant. One of the ambiguities of Google Analytics, including the new version Google Analytics 4, is the use of IP addresses. GA offers the option of IP anonymization, but it is unclear whether the anonymization occurs before the data is transferred to the U.S. Matomo ensures GDPR compliance in all areas of data anonymization.
    Privacy Policy Matomo

Advertising cookies

  • Google Ads
    Prindustry uses Google Ads to display advertisements in search engines. Advertising cookies help us understand how our campaigns perform. For example, we can see if someone clicked on an ad and then visited our website. These cookies do not store personal data and are not used for personalised advertising or retargeting.
    Privacy Policy Google
  • Bing Ads (no longer in use)
    Prindustry previously used Microsoft Bing Ads, but no cookies from this service are currently being placed.
