Preflight is the module within the Prindustry software that checks print designs for technical quality. Before a PDF-file goes into production, Preflight verifies whether it is suitable for the printing process. This helps to prevent errors at an early stage and ensures a smooth and reliable production flow.

What does Preflight check?

Colors: Detects RGB and CMYK colors and warns of incorrect color spaces.
Fonts: Checks for missing or unembedded fonts.
Bleed: Verifies that the file contains sufficient bleed for cutting margins.
Dimension: Verifies that dimensions match product specifications.
Resolution: Assesses whether images meet the minimum resolution for sharp print quality.
Page sizes: Identifies abnormal sizes and attempts to position the file correctly; issues a warning if the proportions are incorrect.

How does it work?

File upload & automatic checks

As a user of the webshop or Brandportal, you can upload your own PDF design to the product you want to order in the shopping cart. With one click you open Preflight. Here the file is automatically checked for color, bleed, fonts and dimensions.

Making edits in the editor

You can then edit the file manually in the editor, with full control over features such as scaling, rotating and mirroring. Any errors or points of interest are clearly displayed.

Production-ready PDF output

Is the file approved? A production-ready PDF including cuts and markings follows. This saves hours of prepress work and guarantees consistent output.

Who is Preflight for?

Preflight is designed for users of a Prindustry ordering portal: customers in the WhiteLabelShop and users of the Brandportal. They can automatically check their print files for technical errors before finalizing an order.

The file check is fully integrated into the ordering process and forms a fixed step within the order workflow. Only files that meet the technical requirements proceed to production. This makes order management more efficient, reliable, and less error-prone.

Administrators can also use the Preflight tool to check files that were submitted outside the platform. This ensures consistent quality control throughout the entire order management process.
